Do you have any thing you love so much that you cannot imagine being without it? Or when you do it makes you feel not 100% complete..?
For me, this is my nails! ✿
For anyone that knows me, they know that my monthly trip to the nail salon is religious to me! Once a month, no doubt I have to have my dose of cuteness by having a fresh, girly floral nail design!
Since being in Tokyo from September 2014, I have had my nails done once a month. I always used to dream of having my nails done in a Tokyo salon! Their length, intricate designs and cute deco & bling caught my eye many years ago, and now I feel extremely lucky that I can enjoy having them done here each month! ♡
I keep all my past designs in a gallery.

I've been to a few salons in the past but now I have my favourite:
'Nail Room Poche' in Ikebukuro!
Visit their pages here:
Firstly, despite no matter where you go for nails in Tokyo, they are all extremely expensive! But compared to the salon I used to go to before in Shinjuku, the prices at Nail Room Poche are extremely reasonable!
E.g. The salon before would charge around 500 yen for a large crystal on your nail where as here its only around 230 yen!
Another example is sculpt やり放題 (Yarihoudai - Do as much as you want) at the salon before was 15,000 yen but it was limited as to what you can do, e.g. only 2 3D sculpts or two fingers with marble design or 4 fingers with small gems. Then after you reach the limit you have to start paying for everything separately. (Kind of defeats the object of calling it 'all you can do'..)
Where as this salon is sculpt all you can do for 12,000 and they keep to their offer! I never pay more than 13,500 even if I get extra little add ons.
Secondly, the staff at this salon are extremely friendly! There are 3-4 girls who each have their specialty regarding nails whether it be 3D art, length sculpting, cute designs etc.
They welcome you, sit you down, offer you a drink, make conversation and check each step with you to make sure you like what they are doing.
Thirdly, it may be a simple reason.. But they also have a TV and super comfy relaxing chairs where you can put your feet up.. I find my self falling asleep sometimes as its so comfortable!
The salon I went to before the chairs were hard with a small cushion so my butt started to hurt after a little while and there was no TV.. I am usually sat in the salon anywhere between 1hr to 2hr 30 mins Depending on the design I get! Used to be tough.. But now I can relax and enjoy the silly things on Japanese TV! Yey!
So today I went to go and get my nails done!
I went back to having long nails! My past few designs were short nails.. But I will always love long ones! > <
Recently, I've been wearing a lot of Liz Lisa so I wanted something soft and pastel that would match all my Liz Lisa clothes! You can never go wrong with pink! ❀
I usually draw out the kind of design I want before I go..
This was todays..!
My drawings suck.. But they always do an amazing job of replicating my wishes! ♥︎
I have a few other designs ready..! Next month I will take a trip to London and Paris so I want to get Paris inspired vintage nails!
My idea may change before my next appointment but.. It's fun to design them!
Do you like getting your nails done?
If yes, what kind of design do you like?
What do you think about the OTT Japanese style nails? They are so epic to me~! *__*
