Hope you’ve all had an amazing week and the sun is shining brightly in your lives at the moment! It is Spring after all! ..❀..
As usual in Tokyo, there is an event going on this weekend in which I wanted to check out. About twice a year after the new seasons clothing comes out, Shibuya 109 brands usually have a big outlet sale to sell all the old seasons unsold stock.
Summer fashion is already coming in, so sweet Spring season items are already being replaced for cute bikinis and stylish beachwear.
Last year I also attended this outlet event after Spring.
It is hosted in the same place in Shibuya, and usually works in the same manner e.g. lasting for a weekend, having to sign up to enter, same brands etc.
I went yesterday on the first day so I expected there to be a huge queue but to my surprise it wasn’t overly huge! I must have waited for a maximum of 15-20 minutes before entering which is quite short for this kind of event!
Unfortunately, like a lot of things in Japan, I wasn't able to take photographs on the inside… However this is the basic layout!
Its a very large open space, with lots of open shops set out around the room. The clothing is hung on rails and each shop is just distinguished with a sign with the brand name on it. It was pretty busy inside which made it a bit hard to look at everything but I was just quickly browsing anyway so it was ok.
I went there with no expectations to buy anything as recently I have been rather picky with my purchases and what with Japanese fashion changing in to more simpler western style looking clothing, I didn't think there would be anything I liked..
And I was right! I didn’t buy anything..! XD
I remember I went to a similar outlet sale in Nagoya in 2013 during my exchange. That time was the most amazing sale i’d ever been to in my entire life!! My friend and I were so impressed at the way Japanese people regulated the event and seeing as we didn’t understand how it worked we just turned up and lined up. We noticed everyone was holding a flyer like ticket and we didn't have one, so with our best Japanese ability at that time we asked about it and the girls told us that we had to sign up. It was all very confusing at the time and we couldn't understand all the Japanese on the sign up website, so the girls were so kind as to allow us to take a picture of their leaflet and we were granted access in to the outlet sale hall!
This sale had 2 huge full floors of all the Shibuya 109 brands (Or Passé Department store in Nagoya) and we were absolutely spoilt for choice as to where to look..! We’d never seen so many gorgeous discounted clothes in our entire lives. There was even Liz Lisa, with so many beautiful 2013 style dresses.. And the style back then for all brands was more floral and cute Japanese style than today’s toned down and simpler design clothes.
We spent so much money!! And as poor university students, we felt the pinch! But we didn’t care as we owned so many new beautiful items and enjoyed such a lovely girly shopping day followed by a delicious lunch and Purikura!!
Ahh the good old shopping days in Japan..! 0=)
In other news though! Yesterday was also the release of the much anticipated Strawberry Jam Series from Liz Lisa!
Its been quite a while since Liz Lisa really did a print that I looked at and fell in love with at first sight! Back in the golden days of Liz Lisa, I used to fall in love with every product in store and would always struggle to know which item to buy! But now items I buy from there are fair and few… I will always be a supporter of the older Liz Lisa generation designs! ..♡..
This cutely dressed up mannequin was at the store front of Liz Lisa.
Red gingham is really in at the moment. And strawberries are for some reason just absolutely adorable for a print so this set was a must have..!
I didn't buy the shoes, bag or hat as I felt I may be able to find cuter accessories elsewhere to make a nice coordinate~
I want to find some cute red strawberry / cherry earrings and wear some cute red ribbons in my hair with braids! I also feel like I want to go on a picnic in this coordinate! XD
I also decided to be brave and bought some red items from Liz Lisa a few weeks ago… Until recently I literally only had white, pastel pink, pastel blue and dark pink in my wardrobe and only similar colour shoes and handbags to match…
Because of this, I have always put off buying red items as I have nothing to match but I decided it was time to take the leap and invest in some cute red clothes for a change!
I really like the gingham top! And the white t-shirt is super simple but comfortable and makes for a lovely coordinate with this gorgeous red skirt!
So thats all for this post! I’m so happy I could find a cute ‘new style’ Liz Lisa set which I can enjoy wearing this Summer!
What kind of styles do you like to wear in the Summer?
