Finally.. Time To Plan For My Tattoo..!
For a veeery long time now I have been considering getting a tattoo.
It all started about 8 years ago when my two sisters both got one. I wondered, do I want one too? Then dismissed the idea as at that time I preferred the idea of being 'natural'.
Over the years I have thought time and time again about having one but there has always been something preventing me or I decided I wasn't quite ready .
Recently however, I have FINALLY decided that I will get a tattoo for definite! After so many years of umming and ahhing, I am now ready.
It will be a representation of myself and my thoughts. It will be very dear and meaningful to me.
I feel that having a tattoo is something quite personal, a reflection of something important to us; special imagery, symbolism or meaning we want to keep documented for our own memories or something special we want to express to the world.
One of the main reason's I haven't got a tattoo yet is what with living in Japan, tattoos are known to be frowned upon and disapproved. Also people with tattoos are known to be excluded from areas such as onsen (hot springs), public baths, saunas, swimming pools etc.
Recently however it seems Japan whilst strict on this matter in a traditional sense, modern Japanese society (in Tokyo at least) have been more open to the idea of tattoos, especially for foreigners who have them due to the increase in tourism and foreign immigrants.
So What Am I Thinking Of Getting..?
I have a few things I want to get done, however for now I'm thinking of getting 2 designs.
Both are floral featuring roses.
The first place I want to get a tattoo is on the back of my middle right shoulder. Here I have a small scar from a small medical mishap in which I want to cover. Here I would like to get a single rose with a realism & watercolour theme.
My Planned Design:
The second design will be behind my right ear graduating down my hairline. This is the original place I've always wanted to have a tattoo even from the beginning! I feel like it looks so amazing whenever I see people or pictures with tattoos behind their ear! ♡
Once I've had the tattoo's done, i'll explain more about them, and the personal meaning behind them for me! ♡
Who Will Be The Tattoo Artist?
I plan to have the tattoos done in New York when I visit for a day in transit to Cancun Mexico for my Golden Week holiday!
Not only is this a lovely way to make memories in New York, a lot of the best watercolour tattoo artists are in America!
As I am such a perfectionist, I have been researching long and hard for salons that can meet my wishes.
I have been researching specifically 'watercolour' tattoo artists as they are truly beautiful pieces of art!
